Pressure Washing vs. Soft Washing
Pressure Washing uses high pressure to clean surfaces. When done properly is great for hard surfaces such as concrete. However, when delicate surfaces such as asphalt, shingled roofs or vinyl siding need cleaning, pressure washing may cause unrepairable damage. Soft Washing uses a water, chemical (non-toxic) and soap blend which is safe for delicate surfaces and environmentally friendly.

What are the black streaks on my roof?
Algae.
The black streaks are caused by a specific type of algae called gloeocapsa magma. The algae spores are feeding on the limestone filler material found in most modern-day asphalt shingles. Hince this is why a 30-year roof only last 15 to 20 years. Routine cleaning (every 2 to 3 years) utilizing our Soft Washing method kills the algae and brightens or in some cases restores the shingles to their original color.
